KVD Triple Grip Hooks
MUSTAD® EXPANDS RANGE OF KVD ELITE TRIPLE GRIP® TREBLE HOOKS
Mustad has added two new versions of the wildly successful UltraPoint® KVD Elite Triple Grip® Treble to meet angler needs for a broader range of applications. The design of these new replacement treble hooks was created by the world’s #1 ranked angler and Mustad pro-staffer Kevin VanDam. “The trebles have made all the difference in my ability to win back-to-back Classics® and Angler of the Year titles,” said Kevin. “In the last year alone, I’ve won more than a million dollars using these hooks.”
The hook design features a unique wide bend and power angle point that makes it virtually impossible for fish to throw the hook. “In both Classic victories, I never lost a fish. The hooking and holding ability of this treble design is by far the most advanced I’ve ever fished,” noted Kevin. “But there are some topwater and longer stick-bait applications where a lighter wire and longer shank are more desirable.” The sentiment was echoed by walleye pro and Mustad pro-staffer Gary Parsons. “In many of our big water trolling applications we’re not concerned about hook tangle and a longer shank assures better hook ups.”
The UltraPoint® Elite Triple Grip® Trebles are now available in four options:
NEW Ref No. TG58NP-BN: Features standard wire diameter and standard shank length. Hooks are available in sizes 1/0 through 8. This hook is a great choice for topwater, jerk baits, finesse and suspending baits or where a hook with heavier wire can throw off the balance and action of the bait. It is also ideal for larger baits where trebles with longer shanks increases the distance between the hook point and lure body, providing increased hook ups.
NEW Ref No. TG78NP-BN: Features 1 extra strong wire and has a standard shank length. They are available in sizes 1/0 through 8. This hook is an excellent option when added strength is needed on larger baits and where hook tangling is not an issue. The longer shank increases the distance between the hook points and the lure body, raising hook-up percentages. This is also a good choice for top water baits.
Ref No. TG76NP-BN: Features 1 extra strong wire and 2 extra short shank. The shorter shank helps avoid hook tangling and allows anglers to use a hook one or two sizes larger, providing a wider gap and greatly increasing hook sets. The beefier wire adds strength to help pull fish out of heavy cover. They are available in sizes 3/0 through 8.
Ref No. TG76NP-RB: Now available with a red finish. Opti-Angle Needle Point, chemically sharpened, Nor-Tempered, two extra short shank, extra strong, special wide bend, ringed, red finish. Available in sizes 1/0 through 8.
