Anglers: Ann Marion Kindlistuen Haugen
Fly: Zulu Silver
Location: Rena River in Central Norway
Ann Marion Kindlistuen Haugen was on her first fishing trip this summer, fishing in the Rena River at the outlet of Lake Osen . Svein Hasvoldsether, who is an experienced fisherman and a Mustad employee, gave her some expert instruction to help her getting started. And after the basic training she would not quit and her casting got better and better. And her efforts were rewarded!
A classic Mustad Salmon fly, the black and shiny Zulu Silver with a red body, enticed a mountain trout to attach from where it was resting behind a stone. Ann Marion had placed her float just outside of the little pool, the fly made a turn into the slower part of the current and then she hooked the fish!
Here you can see the proud fishergirl, who is now 11 years old. She looks forward to spring when the ice and snow melts, allowing her to go fishing again. May she will have a new fishing rod for this season?
