Carp

One of last year's greatest successes for Mustad was the launching
of the new ULTRAPOINT Carp Hook series. After a successful introduction in
England , one of the most demanding markets, the rest of Europe followed suit.
Today the series has been introduced in more than twenty countries. The
following four patterns are all based on the Ultrapoint technology: X-1, X-2,
X-3 and X-4.

The Carp hook range
consists of four different patterns, available both in barbed and barbless
versions, initially made in sizes 4,5,6,7,8 and 10; later the larger sizes 1,2
and 3 have been added to the barbed series. The hooks have been carefully
designed to cover the various styles of fishing:
- X1 - made specifically for fishing bottom baits

X2 -designed for fishing pop-ups, particularly with variations on
the swimmer rig theme

X3 -ideal for anglers tying up blow-back and sliding Hair rigs

X4 - the classic carp hook pattern
Practical Label
Each packet features clearly
labelled rig images, showing the best rig to use with each of the four patterns,
so the anglers are able to choose the suitable hook based on the type of rig
they prefer to use.
The ULTRAPOINT three-stage grinding technology produces an
incredibly sharp needle point, but because more of the metal remains the point
won’t roll or lose sharpness – keeping that sticky sharpness for longer.
ULTRAPOINT Carp hooks also feature Mustad’s unique three-stage
Nor-tempering process, creating a fine grained, ultra-strong micro structure
that is upto 30% stronger than conventionally tempered hooks. So the angler can
fish a smaller hook than previously, giving improved presentation, but with the
confidence that the hooks will not let them down. Even under extreme pressure
Nor-tempering produces a hook that will deform rather than snap, greatly
increasing the chances of landing that fish of a life-time.
