MT Point is a new range of Mustad hooks featuring patterns based on selected famous Classic Mustad hooks, but upgraded with new features. The MT Point is a genuine chemically sharpened hook at an economical price.

Important technological advances by Mustad have brought about the MT Point concept. Mustad can produce a hook point comparable in sharpness to a needle point at less
cost in a single machining process (needle points require separate machining). MT Point hooks feature:

• Vastly increased sharpness at the tip
• The body of the point maintains the same incredible strength as Mustad Classic hooks
• Chemical sharpening further enhances sharpness and penetration
• New and improved finishes including the latest Black Nickel (BLN) and a totally new 'Nickel blonde' (BE) finish, enhance performance and corrosion resistance.
  

MT Point patterns cover many fishing preferences and include the wide gap, beak, kirby, and Limerick styles, as well as open eye gang hooks.

The name “MT Point” acknowledges Mathias Topp, a Mustad engineer who, in the late 19th century invented the world’s first automatic hook machine, enabling a hook to
be formed from a piece of wire in the one process. This enabled Mustad to fully automate fish hook production, achieving a standard of consistency and production volum unachievable by the traditional and laborious handmaking procedure.
