Tying
instructions: |
Step 1
Secure your S74S SS streamer-hook level in the vice. |
| |
Step 2
Attach and run your tying thread along the hook shank until
it hangs just behind the point of the hook.
Step 3
Cut two lengths of silver and gold oval tinsel, and tie
these in on the underside of the hook shaft.
Step 4
Run the tying thread to the front of the hook and tie in
a length of medium flat silver tinsel as shown. |
Step 5
Wind the flat tinsel back along the hook shank and then
over the first layer forward towards the eye of the hook.
Before doing this you can coat the hook shank with a drop
of glue to make it hold better if you wish.
Step 6
After you have tied off the flat tinsel, keep your tying
thread behind the hook eye and twist the two lengths of round
tinsel together. Now, wind on the twisted tinsel in even
turns, and tie off. |
Step 7
Turn your hook up side down in the vice and tie in 5 long
lengths of peacock herl as illustrated.
Step 8
On top of the peacock herl tie in a small bunch of long
white bucktail hairs. Take care not to tie in too much. |
Step 9
Now strip off the fibres from the base of a white saddle
hackle and tie in for the collar.
Step 10
Turn your hook back the right way in the vice and tie in
another bunch of white fibres.
Step 11
Select two good long furnace or badger saddle hackles and
tie these in, on each side of the hook. Make sure that they
match in size. |
Step 12
Select a Golden pheasant topping and tie this in over the
white throat, note the length. |
| Step 13
From a ring neck pheasant skin, select two feathers of equal
size for the cheeks. |
Step 14
Tie in two jungle cock eyes on each side over the cheeks. |
Step 15
Now, if you are using white Dyneema you can whip finish and
colour the thread with a black waterproof felt pen. |
Step 16
Varnish the head, and you have your finished Lady Ghost Classic
streamer. |
